He isn’t a bad kid. He’s just a kid with no choice.

Dear Draco Malfoy,

Are you wondering whether this letter is really for you? A letter to a favourite fictional character? Yes, with all senses, I’m writing this to you. I don’t know why, but I could easily relate to the characters and the people who are negative and hated by everyone. Well, EXCEPT DOLORES UMBRIDGE.

If I were in your shoes I would have done nothing to change the way you have been and the way you are. I’m a coward just like you. And don’t tell your father that I called you a coward.

You did what you did to keep your father’s name. And believe me, there’s no escape. Yeah, you were a bully; I don’t support that but the family you came from, the house you were in, everything made you like that. In the Malfoy Manor, you knew that disfigured face was Harry’s. But you didn’t tell them. You know why? You have a heart too. You hated him, you were jealous of him because of his recognition, and everything but you never wanted him to die. You saved him, your mother saved him. After all, not all Slytherins are bad, and not all Gryffindors are great.

When you were chosen to kill Dumbledore, I saw how hard it was for you. When you used the disarming charm on Dumbledore, and he was asking you to make the right choice, saying this is not you, you cannot do this, if it wasn’t for Bellatrix’s interference you would have made a right choice. You would have changed your mind. I believe in you Draco.
I saw the other side of you Malfoy, that can be seen in your son Scorpius, in the way you and Astoria raised him. You aren’t the boy who made all wrong choices, but you are the one with no choice at all.

Remember somewhere in the muggle world someone loves you with all her heart, though she knows what people might think of her for loving you. Just remember, she doesn’t care and still loves you.

Let your father hear about this. Okay?
