Every book that we read has a way of taking our hearts away. Sometimes through the middle, sometimes at the very end, but most of the times, at the beginning of it all. Because that is where it all starts, doesn’t it? From that very first page, from that very first line, the magic begins. There are so many wonderful opening lines that have taken our breath away; some beautiful, some hilariously funny, some morose, and some extremely insightful.
Here are a few that we absolutely adored.
1. The Bell Jar – Sylvia Plath
2. A Tale of Two Cities – Charles Dickens
3. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – J.K Rowling
4. The Great Gatsby – F. Scott Fitzgerald
5. 1984 – George Orwell
