Q1. What inspired the idea behind The Elementz FIRE, and how did this anthology come together?
“I don’t have time to read” – this is one excuse I heard from everybody.
In this digital world, we are losing our reading habit. In a society overflowing with information yet lacking in moments of true connection, short stories bring back the joy of reading reminding us that even brief encounters with literature can enrich, inspire, and transform. This was my inspiration- I wanted to give the world short stories that match with today’s fast paced requirements.
So, I introduced THE ELEMENTZ series of short stories. The Elementz has five volumes; the first one is FIRE.
It signifies a flame that has started a revolution. A revolution of short stories for readers across the world. I ensured that this book would cater to these readers who don’t have time to wait and finish a full book but still crave a good read.
I shared my original idea with my friends and other authors, and they all agreed to be a part of this anthology. I handpicked the unique authors who have diverse writing styles. I also got encouragement from The Content Palette, which is a strong community comprising of talented writers.

Q2. Why did you choose flash fiction as the format for this collection?
Some call it the era of digitalisation.
Some call it the era of automation and modernisation.
In the literary world, we can call it the era of story stories.
Readers want their stories to end soon, stories they can relate to, and stories that tell a tale FAST!
We call this Flash Fiction. The stories that start and complete in a flash!
You will enjoy each story and devour its characters, and the story will end immediately; you do not have to read a hundred pages to know the end.

Q3. The anthology brings together writers from different countries and backgrounds. How did this diversity shape the book?
The book’s main element is the unique storytelling of each of its ten authors. The writers, who range in age from twenty to eighty years old, come from diverse backgrounds and parts of the world. They share stories from places as varied as the cultural states of India, the Caribbean, and the snowy mountains of Canada, each offering a distinct point of view. These stories provide a variety of perspectives, each narrative being distinct from the others.
The talented authors are Dr. Alina Roby, Dr. Rachna Sabu, Snehal Khanapurkar, Minal Vasaya, Sameen Khan, Kavita Dave, Afreen Khan, Nida Khan, Kiran Motwani and V. Ramsamooj Gosine.

Q5. Was there a particular story in the anthology that surprised or inspired you the most?
Each story in the anthology is unique and surprises you. It is not possible to choose one, but I cannot express in words how the reader will fell. It’s a mixture of all emotions. You will find Romance, Thrill, Adventure, Betrayal, and Excitement all together in one book.

Q6. How challenging was it to create memorable characters and emotions within such a short word count?
The word count is less that 1500 words for each story, and within 3 to 4 pages of the book the story ends. Ther characters in each story are very strong, and authors have brough the characters to life. Here the quote is suitable “Less is more”.

Q8. What emotions do you hope readers experience while moving from one story to the next?
The Indian Ayurveda is the most ancient proven science of life and healing. It introduces us to an interesting concept of the 5 elements required to balance life. That is the reason why our book title is The Elements as you will experience all the elements in the different stories. You will be transformed into the world of young love, broken relationships, stardom, childhood, and technology, all in one book. You will be surprised by the roller coaster ride of emotions that the stories will take you through.

I want readers to remember that Impact doesn’t require a high word count. Short, crisp stories can be just as captivating as epic novels. It’s time to evolve with the changing times and embrace the power of flash fiction. The readers will want more, and the next anthology The Elementz EARTH is coming soon.
