Red Wine Gossips: Breaking Stereotypes, One Story at a Time

There are books that entertain, books that inspire, and then there are books that quietly remind us of the conversations we’ve always needed. Red Wine Gossips by Dr. Sunainaa Sindhwanii belongs to the latter. It is more than a collection of stories it’s an honest celebration of womanhood, friendship, resilience, and the quiet strength hidden within everyday conversations.

Often dismissed as “gossip,” the conversations women share are, in reality, filled with wisdom, compassion, vulnerability, and hope. Through Red Wine Gossips, Dr. Sindhwanii invites readers to sit around the table, pour themselves a glass of comfort, and discover the extraordinary stories hidden in ordinary moments.

A celebrated Clinical Nutritionist, Internationally Certified Skin Specialist, and award-winning author, Dr. Sunainaa Sindhwanii has consistently used her writing to explore themes of love, acceptance, healing, and emotional well-being. Following the success of I Breathe Last For You and the nationally acclaimed The Purple Couch, her third book continues her journey of telling stories that connect deeply with readers.

In this exclusive conversation, she opens up about the inspiration behind Red Wine Gossips, her writing process, the lessons she’s learnt as an author, and why authentic conversations deserve to be celebrated.

Q1. The book primarily aims to break the stereotype of ‘what women talk about.’ Where do you think this notion stems from?

I believe this stereotype comes from generations of underestimating women’s conversations by labeling them as “gossip.” When women come together, they don’t just exchange stories, they share experiences, support one another, solve problems, and find strength in each other’s journeys. What may seem like casual chatter often carries deep emotions, life lessons, and resilience. Red Wine Gossips is my way of celebrating those conversations and showing that they deserve to be heard with respect.

“That’s a beautiful perspective and It immediately reframes the idea of “gossip” into something far more meaningful shared experiences that empower and heal.”

Q2. What was your inspiration for this book? Was it a particular incident or a general observation?

The inspiration came from years of observing the women around me, family, friends, colleagues, and patients. I realized that some of the most meaningful life lessons were shared over simple conversations, often during a cup of tea or a glass of wine. There wasn’t one defining moment; rather, it was a collection of countless stories, emotions, and everyday experiences that inspired me to write this book.

“Sometimes the most impactful books aren’t born from a single moment but from a lifetime of listening. That sense of observation certainly shines through.”

Q3. Besides being a heartfelt tribute to women, the book is full of spirit. What made you decide to use this style to convey your message?

Life is rarely just joyful or just painful; it is a blend of both. I wanted the book to reflect that reality. Humor, warmth, and light-hearted conversations make difficult emotions easier to understand and accept. By presenting these stories with honesty, laughter, and hope, I wanted readers to feel like they were sitting with close friends rather than reading a lecture.

“That balance between humour and heartfelt emotion makes stories far more relatable and It feels less like reading and more like being part of the conversation.”

Q4. Speaking of genre, would you consider exploring other genres, or do you find comfort only in the contemporary voice?

I enjoy contemporary writing because it allows me to connect directly with readers and discuss everyday emotions and relationships. However, I don’t like limiting myself as a writer. If a story naturally belongs to another genre, I would love to explore it. For me, the story always comes before the genre.

“That’s an exciting mindset and It leaves readers wondering what new storytelling direction you may explore in the future.”

Q5. Do you think your medical background enhanced your ability to convey such an emotional message with the confidence that the book radiates?

Absolutely. Being in the medical profession has given me the privilege of witnessing people at their most vulnerable and strongest moments. Every patient has a story beyond their diagnosis, and those experiences have taught me empathy, patience, and the importance of listening without judgment. Those lessons naturally found their way into my writing.

“It certainly explains the emotional authenticity in your storytelling andListening, after all, is often the first step towards healing whether in medicine or in literature.”

Q6. What was your writing process like? Was this book a quick write, or did you take your time to process and put your thoughts on paper?

This book was written over time. I have dedicated this book to my dad, who always supported me. Many ideas stayed with me for months before I put them into words. I wanted every story to feel genuine rather than rushed. I wrote, reflected, edited, and often revisited chapters until they carried the emotions I wanted readers to experience.

“That dedication makes the journey even more personal and It’s evident that every chapter was written with patience, love, and intention.”

Q7. What reader base would you want to pick this book up? Do you have a heads-up for them?

I wrote this book for anyone who enjoys stories about people, relationships, emotions, and personal growth. While it celebrates women, its themes of love, courage, friendship, and resilience are universal. My only advice to readers is to approach the book with an open heart. You may find pieces of your own story hidden within its pages.

“That’s perhaps the best way to approach any meaningful book with an open heart and a willingness to see ourselves in its pages.”

Q8. Since this is your third book, what has been your biggest lesson, whether from mistakes or moments of introspection?

One of the biggest lessons has been to trust my own voice. Early on, I worried about whether readers would relate to my stories. Over time, I realized that authenticity creates the strongest connection. I’ve also learned that writing is not about perfection; it’s about honesty, growth, and continuous learning.

“Authenticity truly is what readers remember long after they’ve finished a book and That’s a lesson every creative person can relate to.”

Q9. If you had to give aspiring writers one piece of advice that you wish you had known earlier, what would it be?

Write consistently, but write honestly. Don’t chase trends or try to sound like someone else. Your unique perspective is your greatest strength. Read widely, accept feedback gracefully, and remember that rewriting is just as important as writing the first draft. Most importantly, don’t wait for inspiration, show up for your writing regularly.

“Practical, encouraging, and timeless advice and Every aspiring writer could benefit from hearing those words.”

Q10. How has your publishing journey been so far? What would you say is the bigger battle writing a book or getting it to the right audience?

The publishing journey has been both rewarding and educational. Completing a book is a deeply personal achievement, but reaching the right readers is an entirely different challenge. Today, writing and publishing are only part of the journey; connecting with readers through conversations, events, and social media is equally important. In many ways, writing the book is the beginning, while building a meaningful readership is the ongoing journey.

“That’s an honest reflection on modern publishing and A book may begin with the writer, but it truly comes alive when it finds the readers who connect with it.”

Our conversation with Dr. Sunainaa Sindhwanii reminds us that stories don’t always need grand events to leave a lasting impact. Sometimes, they are born from ordinary conversations, shared over tea, laughter, or a glass of wine. Red Wine Gossips challenges stereotypes while celebrating the emotional depth, resilience, and strength that women bring into everyday life.

As readers turn its pages, they may discover reflections of their own relationships, emotions, and experiences. More importantly, they’ll be reminded that behind every conversation lies a story worth listening to. And perhaps that’s the greatest message this book leaves us with—that empathy begins when we truly hear one another.

We thank Dr. Sunainaa Sindhwanii for sharing her journey, insights, and the heart behind Red Wine Gossips. We wish her continued success and look forward to the many stories she has yet to tell.
